Škoda previews first of three new EVs and reveals new brand identity
Škoda Auto has given an insight into the first of three new electric vehicles and revealed its new design language and brand identity.
As part of its Next Level – Škoda Strategy 2030 plans, the brand is accelerating its ‘e-campaign’ for electric vehicles and will bring three new models to market from as early as 2026 and with more to follow.
This includes its Vision 7S concept study, now teased in further detail following an interior sketch earlier this year. Likely to provide an electric replacement to the Kodiaq, the seven-seater SUV will be based on the VW Group’s MEB architecture, used for models such as the VW ID.3. The concept version features an 89kWh battery, delivering a range of over 600km (370+ miles), and a peak charging rate of 200kW.
The Vision 7S features two different interior configurations, focused on Driving and Relaxing, and interior space said to be generous. It also relocates the child seat in front of the second row of seats on the centre console, said to be the safest place, and debuts a new Natural Human Machine Interface. Sustainable, durable materials will be used throughout the interior.
More Simply Clever features will also debut, including magnetic surfaces for metal drinks bottles or a first-aid kit, plus practical backpacks that are magnetically attached to the seat backrests and a large crystal that indicates the battery and charging status of the Vision 7S using different colours.
The Vision 7S also provides the forerunner of the brand’s new design language that it will roll out across the entire product portfolio over the coming years. This includes the so-called Tech‑Deck Face, which reinterprets the Škoda grille, plus a new logo.
Supported by its new electric models, the all‑electric share of the brand’s European vehicle sales will rise to over 70% by 2030. The plans are underpinned by a further €5.6bn (£4.8bn) investment in e-mobility and €700m (£601.5m) in digitalisation over the next five years.
But the carmaker will also strengthen its ICE product in the transition phase to e-mobility and will unveil the new-generation Superb and Kodiaq in the second half of 2023, while a facelifted Octavia will follow in 2024.

We’ll also be using it to sharpen our customer appeal; with the new styling, we are taking the brand to the next level and aligning it to our customers’ new needs and expectations, particularly regarding user experience (UX), connectivity and the entire customer journey.”
