Škoda has updated its Enyaq electric SUV with faster DC rapid charging, enhanced safety systems and improved functionality from the infotainment system.

The 2022 Enyaq electric SUV sees rapid DC charging speeds increase to up to 135kW for iV 80 models

Introduced for the 2022 model year, the revisions bump up the rapid DC charging speed from 125kW – one of the fastest already in the segment – to 135kW for iV 80 models built from January 2022. This will slash the charging times for drivers when fast charging on a 150kW+ public charger.

At the same time, Enyaq iV 60 models will now be able to charge at speeds up to 120kW; an increase from the previous 100kW.

All-wheel-drive Enyaq iV 80x variants also benefit from a new Traction mode, activated via the driving mode screen on the infotainment system and increasing ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation). This enables optimal drive distribution between the front and rear axle.

Also new is a Battery Care Mode that helps to extend the life of the battery by setting a maximum charge capacity of 80% – in line with industry recommendations and helping to prolong battery health.

Drivers will also get enhanced information on battery charge information thanks to updated graphic delays on the infotainment system. These include a chart of estimated battery level on arrival when a destination is programmed – useful when planning charging stops. The charging screen has also been redesigned to show more information plus extra functionality including AC charge options and predefined charging and preconditioning for the cabin.

Finally, the optional Assisted Drive Package Plus with Travel Assist gains additional features. These include Narrow Lane Assist where the car recognises temporary yellow lines, barriers and cars in the next lane and guides the car through narrowed spaces. In addition, the steering wheel travel assist button will now allow drivers to toggle between travel assist modes as well as activating and de-activating the system. When the vehicle is started again the last mode used will be active.

The updates have been announced as Škoda reveals prices and specs for the Enyaq Coupé iV vRS. It’s the first-ever fully electric vRS and the flagship model for the brand’s new Enyaq Coupé – a coupé-SUV version of the regular Enyaq iV SUV with a more rakish design and targeted at drivers looking for “emotion with efficiency”.
