A rival to the Volkswagen ID.3, the Q will join the BE11 midsize electric SUV going on sale in November via UK distributor Innovation Automotive and, like its sibling, is expected to be “competitively priced”.

Skywell’s first car to make its global debut in Europe, the Q showcases the brand’s aspirations for the market over here and is due to arrive in Q3 2025.

Measuring 4.3m long, 1.8m wide and 1.5m high, it sits squarely in the family car segment.

Two battery options will be available, with the larger pack offering a combined range of over 300 miles and a time of around 20 minutes for a 10% to 80% recharge. The 204hp front-mounted motor will enable a speedy 0-62mph time of 3.9 seconds.

Design features include a low-profile, dynamic front LED lightbar, 18-inch alloy wheels and a large opening ‘Skyroof’ on selected models.

Skywell promises an “ergonomic and surprisingly spacious interior” with 128-colour ambient lighting.

The infotainment system comes complete with a large 15.6-inch touchscreen display, Metz sound system with eight speakers, wireless smartphone connectivity and touchscreen displays for rear-seat occupants.

Equipment also includes wireless phone charging, a 360-degree panoramic parking camera and a 220V socket for charging larger electrical items such as laptops.

Advanced driver assistance features deliver intelligent cruise assist, autonomous emergency braking system, lane keep assist and intelligent speed assist.

It’s backed by Skywell’s seven-year, 100,000-mile warranty and an additional eight-year, 155,000-mile warranty for the battery.

Exact UK specifications will be announced nearer to the launch date next year.
