A new undermounted high-voltage CIGS solar panel kit specifically designed for the electric light commercial vehicle market has debuted in the UK.

The undermounted solar panel kit delivers high-voltage power using a compact design

Launched by Genie Insights, the solar panel system tackles a critical need for fleets by offering dependable auxiliary power to an electric van’s 12V battery.

Delivering over 30V (VOC) in a compact design, the solution uses solar power to deliver battery support.

The latest evolution of the established Genie Insights product, the solar panel debuts a new undermounted design that has both aesthetic and functional benefits, not only maintaining a clean vehicle profile but also enhancing durability under daily wear.

Said to be the only domestically manufactured solution in its field, the solar panel is engineered for optimal performance in winter and challenging conditions.

The solar panel kit has IP67, ECE R10 and fire, vibration and shock certification. It’s also been granted whole vehicle type approval.

More than 7,000 Genie Insight units have already been installed in the UK, of which many have already been put through multiple winters seasons.

The product can be supplied by many of the UK’s vehicle leasing companies and van converters for new installations, or via Genie Insights directly for retrofitment by the company’s nationwide installation network.
