Installed at the store in Uppsala, Sweden, with the next installation due to be completed in Örebro shortly, the units offer remote management from within the supermarket and feature tamper-proof locking sockets for security.

Rolec EV business development manager, Bianca Alsop-Orrey, said: ‘The future-proof EV charging pedestals we supplied give ICA the ability to change the way customers pay to charge their EVs due to the payment system facia having the ability to be altered at any time to suit our Tap-n-Charge system, should the client wish to do so.

‘Rolec’s Tap-n-Charge pay to charge RFID/bank card system facilitates Europay, MasterCard and Visa, as well as Near Field Communication (NFC) technologies. These universal payment methods are unique to Rolec’s AutoCharge midi pedestals – we believe they are the future of EV charging.’
