Ofgem has provisionally approved billions of pounds to enhance energy security and upgrade Britain’s electricity supergrid in a move that’s been greeted by the EV charging sector.
Ofgem has set out plans for how it will ready the grid for the roll-out of EVs and help drivers make the switch.
An electric vehicle project that will see up to 3,000 electric vans tested with UK fleets from mid 2019 has been given the green light.
Although the UK is on course to achieve emissions reductions targets to 2022, achieving longer-term goals will require more investment and policies in areas including electric vehicle take-up.
