TMC has updated its guide to reimbursing electric vehicle drivers for business mileage.

TMC’s reimbursement guide covers the various options available for pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and mild hybrids

The document is available online and covers the various options available for pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and mild hybrids, including company-owned and grey fleet vehicles.

Paul Hollick, managing director at TMC, said that while the cost per business mile should be factored into the initial whole-life cost analysis, many businesses only consider reimbursement once employees start using electric vehicles.

“Our guide seeks to help businesses by setting out the options available to enable employees to be fairly reimbursed within HMRC’s guidelines,” he added. “We are on a mission to simplify EV mileage reimbursement and help businesses transition smoothly to electric vehicles. Whatever method is chosen, our systems provide a hassle-free way to reimburse employees for charging their electric vehicles.”

Launched last year, TMC’s reimbursement service for electric vehicle charging can take in and collate data from domestic, company and public charging, ensuring cost-effective and fair reimbursement.
