Source, the TotalEnergies and SSE joint venture that’s developing a 3,000-strong network of high-power EV charge points across the UK and Ireland, has appointed Deepa Chandrasekaran as managing director.

Deepa Chandrasekaran, managing director at Source

Chandrasekaran brings significant experience in leading high-growth businesses and driving innovation in the energy and mobility sectors. Her appointment strengthens Source’s work to capture 20% market share in the rapidly expanding ultra-rapid charging sector.

Under Chandrasekaran’s leadership, Source will continue its rollout of strategically located charging hubs in prime urban locations, powered by renewable energy from SSE and TotalEnergies.

Source is developing 300 EV hubs, spread across the UK and featuring high-power charge points of 150kW and above. This will support the UK’s EV charging infrastructure development, as the sector focuses on building investor and customer confidence through reliable, high-power charging solutions that will accelerate the transition to electric vehicles for both drivers and fleet operators across the country.

Chandrasekaran said: “With our ambitious plans to expand our ultra-rapid charging network, we have a unique opportunity to redefine what great looks like for drivers, fleets and communities across the UK and Ireland.

“I am passionate about creating a sustainable future, and I look forward to working with the talented teams at Source, SSE and TotalEnergies to deliver innovative, customer-focused solutions that accelerate the transition to electric mobility.”
