Toyota announces UK spec for the Yaris Hybrid
Available to order now ahead of first deliveries in July, Toyota has downsized the components of its familiar Hybrid Synergy Drive to fit into the Yaris’s compact bodyshell with no sactifice in cabin or boot space.
Importantly, the Yaris Hybrid comes in at £1,000 cheaper than the entry-level Honda Jazz Hybrid, while undercutting its fuel economy by almost 18mpg and CO2 emissions by 25g/km, offering cost benefits for business and retail customers.
Power comes from a 1.5-litre VVT-i petrol engine with a nickel-metal hydride battery and CVT gearbox, like the larger Auris HSD. Three trim levels will be on offer, with the T3 and T4 coming in at 79g/km, while the range-topping T Spirit will emit 85g/km, with fuel economy of 80.7mpg and 76mpg respectively.
T4 and T Spirit versions will be available with a choice of £250 Proteciton Pack, including protective mouldings, floor mats and a boot liner, with the Protection+ Pack adding rear parking sensors and bumper protector. For £300, owners can add the Style Pack, which includes Hybrid-branded scuff plates and chrome-finished side sills and tailpipe trim.
All models include Toyota’s new Touch infotainment system, as fitted to the conventional Yaris, which can be upgraded to Touch and Go to include apps and satellite navigation.
