Toyota’s latest Highlander Hybrid SUV is to make its debut in the UK from early 2021, priced from £50,595.

Toyota’s Highlander Hybrid opens for orders on 4 January 2021

The carmaker announced back in the spring that it was planning to introduce the fourth-gen Highlander to the UK and the Highlander – which launches at the same time as the new plug-in hybrid RAV variant – will sit alongside the Land Cruiser and above the RAV4, C-HR and the new Yaris Cross compact SUV that also arrives next year.

It will solely be offered as a hybrid version – with powertrain details yet to be announced – and will feature seating for up to seven.

Two grades will be available: Excel and Excel Premium. The Excel specification includes 20-inch alloy wheels, leather seat upholstery, three-zone air conditioning, a panoramic roof and a JBL Premium Sound System.

The Premium model – priced at £52,575 – adds a head-up display, power tailgate with hands-free operation, heated rear seats, 360-degree camera and a different 20-inch alloy wheel design.

Order books will open for Highlander Hybrid on 4 January and it starts first deliveries from March 2021.

Further information and detailed specifications will be announced in the new year.
