Ubitricity hits 10,000 charge point milestone and plans Shell Recharge rebrand

Ubitricity, which is wholly owned by Shell, has announced plans to rebrand its charge points as it reaches a new network milestone.

Already present in the UK, Germany and France, the on-street charging specialist is celebrating its 10,000th EV charging point as it enters the Dutch EV charging market.

It’s taken over nearly 1,500 existing public AC fast charge points in the provinces of North-Holland, Flevoland and Utrecht, adding to its growing network.

The UK remains Ubitricity’s largest market, spanning more than 7,000 charge points, making it the largest charge point operator since 2000. Its solutions include on-street lamppost chargers along with AC fast and DC rapid charging points used in local authority car parks.

The charge point operator is now planning to rebrand all 10,000 locations in Europe both physically and digitally to Shell Recharge, drawing on Shell’s well-established customer brand in a move intended to simplify the use of charge points.

All locations will be integrated into the Shell Recharge App, making it easier for EV drivers to find and access EV charging. Shell and its subsidiaries run a global network of over 40,000 public EV charge points.
