UK debut for Volkswagen ID. Buzz seven-seat electric MPV
The highly anticipated Volkswagen ID. Buzz seven-seater MPV is now landing in the UK following a long wait.
Debuting from 23-25 August at CarFest 2024 in Hampshire, the long-wheelbase variant of the people carrier arrives some two years after the short-wheelbase MPV and Cargo versions, delivering extra space and practicality.
It’s priced from £59,545 and focused on family-friendly flexibility, with five-, six- and seven-seat configurations available.
The second row of seats slide and recline for extra comfort, while on seven-seat models the third row can be removed completely. The increase in wheelbase allows for the installation of an 86kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of up to 291 miles – that compares to a maximum of 257 miles for the short-wheelbase version with the 77kWh battery.
The extra 250mm increase in length over the standard model has allowed the sliding rear doors to be increased by 192mm, making entry and exit easier for rear seat passengers.
Onboard space rises to 306 litres of space behind the third seat row. This increases to 1,340 litres of luggage space behind row two and 2,469 litres when both the second and third row seats are folded, compared to 1,121 litres and 2,205 litres respectively for the SWB version. In addition, the Multiflex board adjustable boot floor creates a second loading level and, when the rear seats are folded down, a completely flat load area. All rear seats come with three-point safety belts and ISOFIX mountings for child seats.
The seven-seater ID. Buzz also benefits from the technology and specification upgrades rolled out on the rest of the ID. Buzz line-up. This includes a 12.9-inch screen for the latest ‘Discover Pro’ infotainment system, complete with enhanced graphics and a faster, more powerful processor.
The new ID. Buzz seven-seat will take centre stage at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ CarFest stand, while visitors will also be able to try the five-seat version at the on-site Test Drive Centre.
Deliveries for the ID. Buzz seven-seater start later in 2024.
