The facelifted MG5 EV is making its UK debut from today at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, showcasing its styling and equipment upgrades.

The MG5 EV is still the only fully electric estate car in its sector and has proved popular with both private and business customers alike

First launched in the UK in November 2020, the MG5 EV is still the only fully electric estate car in its sector and has proved popular with both private and business customers alike. More than 8,000 units have been sold since it first arrived here.

The facelifted version gains new Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, first seen on the new ZS EV launched in November 2021 and enabling drivers to power other electric devices using the energy stored in the battery, such as e-bikes, portable heaters or camping equipment.

It also dons new exterior styling, including revised front and rear bumpers, redesigned LED head and rear lights, and new alloy wheel designs.

Revisions to the interior usher in a new fascia with a 10.25-inch widescreen infotainment system and upgraded software. The MG5 can now support iSmart connected car functionality through the brand’s dedicated smartphone app.

Guy Pigounakis, commercial director at MG Motor UK, said: “The MG5 EV has quickly established a strong following as a practical, affordable and efficient estate car and we’re seeking to build upon that success by offering customers an even more attractive, compelling design as well as a generous range of technology upgrades.

“The MG ‘Get More’ philosophy is a key part of our approach – we believe our customers should get more and as standard – and we are confident that the new MG5 EV strongly reflects this.”

Prices and expected delivery dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
