Updated Vauxhall Mokka on sale with price cut for EV versions

Vauxhall’s enhanced Mokka small SUV is on sale now, bearing updated design, extra equipment and a new pricing structure that includes significant savings on electric versions.

The new Mokka Electric delivers savings of up to £4,640

Available with a choice of petrol, hybrid and fully electric powertrains and three grades, the Ford Puma rival delivers savings of up to £4,640 on the Mokka Electric, making electric mobility more accessible to all. Meanwhile, hybrid models see reductions of up to £3,250.

Prices for fully electric versions now start from £33,245 in entry-level Design grade, despite solely being available with the larger 54kWh battery and enhanced 156hp electric motor, after dropping the 50kWh pack and 136hp e-motor debuted in the original fully electric Mokka. It’s able to travel up to 250 miles on a single charge (WLTP), with 0-62mph taking 9.0 seconds and a top speed of 93mph.

The Mokka Hybrid now starts from £27,305 and combines a 136hp 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with a 28hp electric motor and 48V technology. Paired with a new six-speed dual-clutch transmission, it delivers up to 58.8mpg (WLTP), emits from 108g/km of CO2 and is capable of 0-62mph in 8.2 seconds, with a top speed of 129mph.

The pure petrol line-up has been simplified and drops the 100hp version of the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The line-up now starts with the more powerful 136hp iteration of this engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, capable of 0-62mph in 8.9 seconds, with a top speed of 129mph. A 130hp version is also available with an eight-speed automatic transmission, capable of 0-62mph in 8.9 seconds, with a top speed of 126mph.

The 136hp 1.2-litre petrol is priced from £24,705, while the 130hp 1.2-litre with eight-speed auto starts from £26,305.

Trim line-up has also been simplified and now features Design, GS and Ultimate designations.

Design models are equipped with Intelli-LED headlights as standard, with a body-coloured roof and 17-inch black diamond-cut alloy wheels. Infotainment is provided by a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Vauxhall Connect, speech recognition and a USB-C port.

Design trim also comes with automatic headlights and wipers as well as rear parking sensors, driver attention alert, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, speed limiter and high beam assist. Electronic climate control and electrically adjustable/heated door mirrors are also standard. Inside, the new Mokka Design features a leather-effect steering wheel, driver’s seat height seat adjustment, black headliner and new sustainable seat fabric.

GS trim adds in high-gloss black painted claddings, lower grille and front lateral inserts, along with 18-inch diamond-cut bi-colour alloy wheels on petrol models and 18-inch diamond-cut bi-colour aero wheels on electric variants. Exterior styling updates also deliver a gloss black roof, tinted privacy glass rear windows and a shark fin antenna.

Inside, GS models get added ambient lighting, a centre armrest and console, grab handles, and a 180-degree rear-view parking camera.

Ultimate variants add Intelli-Lux matrix headlights, heated seats finished in suede, driver seat lumbar support with massage function, heated steering wheel and an electrochromic frameless rear view mirror. The infotainment system is upgraded with inbuilt navigation and a wireless phone charger. Keyless entry and start is available on both petrol and electric variants.

Driver assistance systems included as standard are cruise control with intelligent speed limiter, extended traffic sign recognition, lane keep assist and in crash braking, and enhanced automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.

Additional driver assists on Ultimate variants include forward brake assist, blind spot alert, front and rear parking sensors, and Active Drive Assist.

First deliveries of the new Vauxhall Mokka start from late January 2025.
