Vauxhall has extended the driving range on the electric Corsa-e and Mokka-e through a range of updates.

The changes mean that the Corsa-e and Mokka-e ranges on the WLTP cycle increase to 222 and 209 miles respectively, up from 209 and 201.

As with similar updates to siblings in the Peugeot and DS ranges, the range extension has been achieved through optimisation of the heat pump, transmission reducer and tyres.

The heat pump, which warms and cools the interior and is standard equipment on both models, is now more efficient and will particularly benefit customers in winter months.

Vauxhall has also introduced a new transmission reducer that converts the motor revs into wheel speed and helps optimise the range.

It’s also switched to new A+ rated 16-inch (Corsa-e) and 17-inch (Mokka-e) low rolling resistance tyres to further drive efficiency.

The two models form part of the brand’s electrification offensive that will see it offer an electrified variant across its entire model line-up by 2024 and have a fully electric vehicle range by 2028 – beating the Government’s 2030 ICE phase-out.
