The changes arrive hot on the heels of the revisions to their van counterparts and boost their appeal to EV drivers.

Both models gain Vauxhall’s ‘Vizor’ front-end design for the first time while the interior brings a fully digital cockpit, featuring intuitive infotainment systems with 10-inch colour touchscreens based on the Snapdragon Cockpit platform from Qualcomm Technologies and with wireless smartphone connection and inductive charging included.

The pair also gain a new electric powertrain. This comes with a new 136hp motor for the Combo Life Electric, giving a top speed of 84mph and with a choice of Eco, Normal and Power driving modes.

The Combo Life Electric is also now able to travel up to 205 miles (WLTP) on a single charge – around 31 miles (18%) more than the previous model – thanks to the further development of the fully electric drivetrain and the use of a heat pump to conserve battery range in low temperatures. With an 11kW (AC) on-board charger and 100kW (DC) capability, the battery can be recharged to 80% of its capacity in around 30 minutes at a 100kW public charging station.

Revisions for the Vivaro Life Electric include a new 75kWh battery that enables a range of up to 217 miles (WLTP) – over 79 miles more than with the 50kWh battery, which also remains available. It comes with an 11kW onboard charger as standard while maximum DC charging rate is 100kW, giving 80% of capacity in around 45 minutes for the 75kWh battery or 38 for the 50kWh pack. As with the Combo Life, it’s powered by a 136hp electric motor, giving a top speed of 81mph and with Normal, Eco and Power modes.

The new editions of the two models each have up to 18 assistance systems. These include equipment such as a 180-degree rear-view camera and new features such as full LED headlights and IntelliLux LED Matrix Light with the Combo Life.

The Combo Life Electric carries up to seven people and offers a load volume of up to 4,000 litres. The Vivaro Life Electric takes up to nine onboard and comes with 4,900 litres of load space.

James Taylor, managing director, Vauxhall, said: “The new Vauxhall Combo Life Electric and new Vauxhall Vivaro Life Electric are ideal people carriers for everyday family life as well as for comfortable shuttle services. With plenty of space and advanced technologies, along with an attractive and modern design, they demonstrate our approach to the future of sustainable electric mobility. These battery-electric variants now offer even more range than before, allowing for seamless zero-emissions-in-use travel without compromising on comfort or space.”

Customer ordering and full UK pricing and specification is expected to be confirmed in early 2024.
