Vauxhall Corsa Electric gets range boost and vehicle-to-load capability
The Vauxhall Corsa Electric has gained more range and vehicle-to-load capabilities in a latest update.
The Long Range edition of the electric hatchback now offers up to 266 miles of WLTP range, an increase of 14 miles over the previous model’s 252 miles due to improved battery cell chemistry and optimised powertrain.
The Corsa Electric Long Range, which features a 51kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery and a 156hp motor, now has an official figure of 4.3mpkWh.
Vauxhall is also introducing vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality for the first time on the Corsa Electric Long Range. Available from May 2025, this feature allows drivers to power external devices up to 3.6kW and 16A, such as power tools or camping equipment, using energy stored in the vehicle’s traction battery.
The bi-directional charging capability is enabled via the standard on-board charging cable and V2L gun, available as an accessory through Vauxhall dealers.
As before, the Corsa Electric Long Range can recharge to 80% in under 30 minutes at a 100kW DC rapid charger.
Prices for the Corsa Electric Long Range start from £28,900 OTR for the recently launched Yes Edition, which comes with heated front seats and a heated vegan leather steering wheel, rear LED taillights, auto-dimming rearview mirror, tinted rear windows and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The Corsa Electric Long Range is also available with the brand’s Electric All In offer, which includes eight years of comprehensive roadside assistance, including emergency charging assistance. The offer also comes with a £500 credit for an Ohme home wallbox installation or Tesco charging credit or Octopus Electroverse credit, as well as 10,000 miles’ worth of free home charging when switching to the Intelligent Octopus Go home energy tariff. Finally, there is a complimentary six-month subscription to Connect Plus.
