Vauxhall has lowered new Mokka-e and Vivaro-e Life prices with immediate effect, ensuring they remain eligible for the Plug-in Car Grant (PiCG).

The grant was changed by the Government last week, cutting the funding from £3,000 to £2,500 and reducing the price ceiling from £50,000 to £35,000; a move seen by many in the fleet and automotive sectors as regressive.

Vauxhall is the latest carmaker to revisit its pricing following the PiCG changes. While the Vauxhall Corsa-e supermini remains eligible for the grant across the range, but Vauxhall has also cut prices for its new Mokka-e and Vivaro-e Life to ensure they continue to qualify too.

Prices for the Mokka-e have been revised across the entire trim range to ensure all derivatives remain eligible for the grant. Prices for the Mokka-e SE Premium now start from £33,040 OTR, while the range-topping Mokka-e Launch Edition starts from £34,995 OTR.

And prices for the Vivaro-e Life Edition models have been cut by more than £2,000, with prices starting from £34,995. The Vivaro-e Life Combi will be the same specification level as the Edition model and will also start from £34,995.

Vauxhall is aiming to offer an electric variant across its model line-up by 2025, in line with the commitment made by the PSA Group prior to its merger with FCA.
