Vehicle Remarketing Association to host EV ride and drive at September meeting

The Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA) is to run an electric vehicle ride and drive event as the main attraction of its next member meeting.

The event will include EVs from BYD, Hyundai and others, as well as a selection of used vehicles

The event, which takes place at the UK headquarters of Arval in Swindon on Thursday 26 September, will include models from BYD, Hyundai and others, as well as a selection of used vehicles.

A general briefing on how to remarket EVs will also be held, featuring insights from Andy Webb, head of sales at Brego, on which cars are selling best while Stuart Chamberlain, head of B2B and partnerships at Arval UK, will talk on EV preparation for sale.

Malcolm Fry of BYD will discuss the company’s plans in the UK while Altelium will carry out battery testing on some of the used EVs on test, showing how its reporting can form a key part of the electric car remarketing process.

VRA chair Philip Nothard said the event would assist VRA members with their EV knowledge, familiarising them with some interesting and common models, and also providing useful information on how to process them for remarketing.

“The remarketing sector is in something of an odd position when it comes to EVs at this point in time. As the recent SMMT figures showed, used EV sales have doubled year-on-year but still only account for around one in 40 sales,” he explained.

“There is a growing volume of EVs entering the used sector as company car fleets start to defleet an increasing number of units, and knowledge of this area is becoming more and more important.”

As with all VRA member meetings, attendance is available online as well as in person.

Details about attending the organisation’s events can be obtained by emailing info@thevra.co.uk.
