Village Hotel Club is installing ultra-rapid charging points across its 33 locations as part of a UK-wide programme with Ionity.

Village Hotel Club will roll out 380 Ionity chargers across its 33 hotels

The group will roll out 380 Ionity chargers at its hotels, offering up to 350kWh.

The chargers will be available to the public and local communities as well as guests and are open to all vehicle types.

All chargers will be powered exclusively by renewable electricity sourced from wind, solar, or hydroelectric energy.

The rollout is part of the Village Hotel Club’s work to support the UK’s shift to zero-emission vehicles

Kelli Turner, general counsel and director of ESG, said: “The UK’s shift to a greener future requires action from all – particularly corporates. At Village, we’re proud to play a role in supporting this shift through the installation of ultra-rapid chargers across our estate. This not only allows electric vehicle users to charge much faster than a standard charger, but also has the added convenience of allowing visitors to charge while at their local Village Gym, using our coworking space VWorks, or popping in for a coffee at our onsite Starbucks.”

The Ionity partnership is a key part of Village Green; Village Hotel Club’s ESG and sustainability strategy. Under Village Green, the group aims to have a positive impact on the communities it operates in, both environmentally and socially.

The tie-up also supports Ionity plans to more than quadruple the number of publicly available stations and charging points in the UK by 2025.

Andreas Atkins, country manager UK & Ireland, Ionity, commented: “With the Ionity EV chargers attracting new footfall to sites, these hubs can inject hundreds of thousands of pounds into the local economies, helping local businesses and communities to thrive.”
