Trade body ChargeUK continues its expansion with the addition of four new charge point operators.

ChargeUK’s members have publicly committed to invest over £6bn by 2030

Blink Charging becomes a member while Gireve, Octopus Energy’s Electroverse and Virta join as industry associate members.

ChargeUK said the latest recruits were further evidence of the industry’s desire to make EV charging as convenient and affordable as possible.

The association’s members have publicly committed to invest over £6bn by 2030, powering the UK’s switch to electric vehicles.

“These new members will help ChargeUK to continue the rollout at a record pace, ensuring deployment ramps up in locations that have been hampered by delays, and making sure the UK has a thriving EV market, so that investment in infrastructure continues at scale,” said Vicky Read, CEO of ChargeUK.

Alex Calnan, managing director of Blink Charging UK & Ireland, commented: “As a charge point operator, this collaboration further strengthens our commitment to delivering reliable, accessible and innovative charging solutions, supporting the nation’s transition to a cleaner, greener future.”

Matt Davies, director of Octopus Electroverse, remarked: “We’re glad to join forces with ChargeUK as the country continues accelerating its charge point rollout. With record numbers being installed and demand for electric cars on the rise, it’s more important than ever that we work together as an industry to deliver fantastic charging experiences.

“As the largest consumer charging platform in the country, Octopus Electroverse is looking forward to lending its support to the growth of the UK’s charging industry.”

And Stuart Tolley, geo director UK & Ireland of Virta, said: “Joining forces with ChargeUK brings our experienced voice to the great work being driven by multiple charge point operator stakeholders, ultimately leading to the best user experience.”
