Z-Tech orders two electric vans to service London Underground

Soon after receiving the vans, managing director Michael Swinhoe and marketing manager Luke Stanbridge set off on a charity tour, driving from Cambridge to customers in the North of England with computers on board for donation to the Institute of Water for Water Aid.

The 675 mile journey was completed in two days, an achievement that Swinhoe said demonstrates the value of a rapid charge network.

There are still places available for fleets to participate in the chargepoint mapping project. The project aims to help determine where in London rapid chargepoints (50kW) should be located to support commercial vehicle fleets and enable operators of plug-in vehicles to maximise their use and reduce the total cost of ownership.

The project is led by Energy Saving Trust, in partnership with vehicle scheduling specialists Route Monkey.
