Zenith hits 10,000 BEV milestone

By / 3 years ago / UK News / No Comments

Zenith has reached the milestone of having over 10,000 funded battery electric vehicles (BEVs) on the road after nearly doubling numbers in the last year.

CEO Tim Buchan said the milestone was aligned with Zenith’s vision to decarbonise the UK’s vehicle parc by eliminating tailpipe emissions

The leasing specialist has over 9,000 BEVs on order for both corporate drivers and individual retail customers, showing how the pace of change continues to pick up further. Some of the most popular cars are Audi, Tesla and Volkswagen.

The rise comes as the motor industry continues to deal with the widely reported supply chain problems combined with the impact of the rising cost of living on consumer demand.

The increased take-up of BEVs supports Zenith’s vision to eliminate tailpipe emissions from the UK vehicle parc. Last year also saw it achieve accredited carbon-neutral status while earlier this year the group raised a £475m green bond to help further its work in supporting the switch to electric vehicles.

Tim Buchan, chief executive officer at Zenith, commented: “Despite a period of uncertainty in the sector, we’ve managed to continue to increase our vehicle orders, and transition drivers to electric vehicles. This is an outstanding achievement given the current supply chain challenges experienced since Covid-19 and is aligned with Zenith’s vision to decarbonise the UK’s vehicle parc by eliminating tailpipe emissions.”
