Independent forecourt operator Motor Fuel Group (MFG) is imminently rolling out rapid chargers from ChargePoint Services across its 413-strong nationwide network.

EV rapid chargers to roll out across 400-plus UK forecourts

The 50kW plus rapid chargers will be hosted by MFG at its nationwide sites, which operate under the BP, Shell, Texaco, JET and Murco fuel brands, and operate as part of ChargePoint Services’s GeniePoint Network.

As announced earlier this year, motorway service stations and large fuel retailers will be required to install EV charge points under legislation planned for in the Queen’s Speech.

Jeremy Clarke, MFG’s chief operating officer, said: “The growth of the electric and hybrid vehicle market is an important part of the fuel mix going forward. MFG is determined to be at the forefront of this technology, satisfying this growing demand.”
