The MG4 EV has been boosted for the 2026 model year with key updates and a new, entry-level model.

First launched back in 2022, the all-electric hatchback now gains stronger technology along with enhanced cabin quality, driving engagement and range.

Key news is the arrival of the new MG4 EV Urban. Based on a different platform to the existing EV4, this front-wheel-drive model delivers a new value-focused, entry-level variant. It’s available in three versions: the Comfort Standard Range starts from £23,495 whilst the Comfort Long Range is priced at £25,495 and the Premium Long Range is available from £27,995.

David Allison, MG UK’s director of product and planning, said: “The all-new MG4 EV Urban reconfirms our brand’s ability to make EV ownership ever-more accessible, offering a family sized electric car available from just £23,495.”

MG has also given the original MG4 EV a raft of updates that focus on a cabin redesign, plusher materials and new equipment, plus more electric range.

The MG4 range starts with the Premium Long Range which is available from £29,995 – a £2,750 reduction from the outgoing model. The Premium Extended Range, priced from £32,995, delivers an improved 338 miles of range from a single charge (WLTP combined).

Crowning the line-up is the dual-motor, performance-focused MG4 EV XPower, priced at £33,995 and with 435hp of power on tap.

Both the MG4 Urban EV and MG4 EV come with a seven-year/80,000-mile warranty.
