Kia has expanded the line-up for its PV5 Passenger electric MPV with the introduction of a seven-seat version, a new Elite grade and key updates.

Introduced as the Cargo van version also gets a host of upgrades, the changes to the passenger version are designed to meet growing demand for flexible multi-passenger mobility.

The new seven-seat version of the fully electric, van-based people carrier is designed to suit a wide range of target audiences. These range from family and group travel to ride-hailing and taxi services, including airport transfers, commercial shuttles and other shared mobility applications.

Joining the existing five-seat variant, the PV5 Passenger seven-seater brings three rows of seating to offer generous comfort and legroom for all occupants. A low step-in height of 399mm, combined with sliding doors, ensures easy access to the second- and third-row seating. The new 2-2-3 seating configuration maximises interior flexibility, supported by 318 litres of rear cargo space, climbing to 785 litres with the third-row seats folded.

The new variant benefits from Kia’s flat-floor E-GMP.S platform, enabling generous interior space and best-in-class legroom (up to 1,041mm), headroom (up to 1,076mm) and shoulder room (up to 1,732mm). As with the rest of the PV5 range, it’s designed for modularity and advanced connectivity, including integration with fleet management systems.

While the five-seat version is available with both the Standard Range 51.5kWh and Long Range 71.2kWh battery options, the seven-seater is exclusively available with the larger pack. This delivers more than 390km (242 miles) of WLTP range, pending homologation. It’s capable of high-power DC charging of up to 150kW, ensuring the battery can be recharged from 10-80% in under 30 minutes.

As with all PV5 variants, the front-mounted charging port adds an extra layer of practicality.

The PV5 Passenger is also equipped with Kia’s vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology on Plus and Elite grades, allowing the electric vehicle to power external devices using an internal or external socket.

Prices for the PV5 seven-seat start from £36,995. Kia will confirm whether this model qualifies for the £1,500 Electric Car Grant in the UK at a later date.

The PV5 Passenger seven-seater arrives alongside model year 2027 (MY27) updates. These include a driver’s height-adjustable armrest to improve comfort, a Walk Away Lock, plus a new flat antenna, helping to maintain a vehicle height below 1.9m for improved access to height-restricted environments.

The PV5 Passenger also gains a new high-spec Elite grade to join the existing Essential and Plus trims. The new grade adds in features such as electric sliding doors with power door latch, ventilated front seats, surround view monitor, blind spot view monitor, park distance warning (side sensors), two-tone full PU upholstery and premium paint.

Pricing for the PV5 Passenger in the UK now starts from £33,195 OTR for the Passenger five-seat Essential with Standard Range 51.5kWh battery. In addition, all grades of the PV5 Passenger five-seat are eligible for the Band 2 Government Electric Car Grant (ECG), taking £1,500 off the on-the-road cost.

Order books for the MY27 PV5 Passenger, including the new seven-seat and Elite grade open Monday 8 June across UK PBV Centres. Production is planned to begin mid-July, with first customer deliveries from October. Every PV5 comes with Kia’s seven-year/100,000-mile warranty (eight years for the high-voltage battery pack).
