The lightweight EV revives a historic nameplate to target buyers seeking affordable, sustainable micromobility
Based on the same underpinning as the Citroën Ami, the lightweight EV revives a historic nameplate to target buyers seeking affordable, sustainable micromobility.
Designed strictly for short city trips and low-speed environments, the vehicle prioritises simplicity with an 8hp electric motor and a 5.5kWh battery. This setup delivers a top speed of 28mph and a driving range of up to 46 miles under the WLTP cycle. A hot Abarth version is also rumoured.
A single-speed automatic transmission and simple three-position drive selector (Drive, Neutral, Reverse) make operation intuitive, particularly for first-time electric vehicle users.
Despite the compact exterior dimensions, the cabin maximises space using a clever offset seating layout for two passengers. It provides 63 litres of interior storage, which includes a dashboard-mounted fabric compartment called the Dolce Vita Box.
The Topolino name translates to ‘little mouse’ in Italian, paying direct homage to the original Fiat 500 Topolino produced from 1936 to 1955.
Fiat UK managing director Kris Cholmondeley said the vehicle forms a core part of the brand’s sustainable micromobility strategy, delivering simple, accessible urban mobility.
“It offers a practical solution for short journeys, leisure use and city environments, while fully embracing Fiat’s values of joy, simplicity and fun,” he added.
The Topolino will be built to order through a network of selected UK retailers.
