Electric vehicle drivers who run out of charge on the road can now benefit from a new AA emergency charging service.

The pPartnership with Chargemaster will see AA patrols carry Polar RFID fobs.

Although the breakdown recovery giant said that the growth of charging points and increased EV ranges mean that it’s unlikely EV drivers will run out of charge, its new service – available for members only and implemented as part of an ongoing partnership with Chargemaster – is intended to bring drivers peace of mind and help drive further EV take-up.

AA patrols will now carry RFID fobs for Chargemaster’s Polar network and, in the event of a member running out of charge, will recover them to the nearest Polar charging point and provide them with a complimentary charge to get them back on the road.

Other AA member benefits under the partnership include bespoke home charging units and preferential charging rates. For more of the latest news, click here.
