The AA Trust is to begin a pilot programme, offering free electric vehicle driving lessons in Milton Keynes to demonstrate how to get the best performance of the technology.
ZOE5 (800x533)Launched at the newly-opened Electric Vehicle Experience Centre – a multi-marque showroom – and co-developed with charging point supplier, Chargemaster, it follows a recent AA Populus survey which showed a third (32%) of drivers wanted to learn again, but in an electric car.

The pilot will take place around the Milton Keynes area, where the centre is based, with plans to roll it out nationally through the AA Driving School and Drive Tech trainers.

Speaking at the launch, Edmund King, AA Trust Chairman, said: “Drive Electric sessions, conducted by AA instructors, can either be carried out in the driver’s own electric car, or in one of the EV Experience Centre’s test drive fleet.”

The tuition builds on an ongoing relationship between the AA and Chargemaster, which is aimed at helping drivers to switch to electric vehicles.
