Abarth expands all-electric 500e line-up for UK market

Fiat’s performance sub-brand Abarth has expanded the line-up for its 500e electric hatch in the UK.

The line-up now starts with the Abarth 500e priced from £34,195 while the 500e Turismo comes in from £38,195

The first Abarth EV ever made, it’s the brand’s take on the standard Fiat 500e and dials up both the styling and performance. It’s available in both hatchback and cabrio form, both featuring the same 42kWh battery as the Fiat but with a higher-powered 155hp motor (compared to 118hp), giving a WLTP range of up to 164 miles (199 miles for the Fiat) and supporting fast charging of up to 85kW DC.

Orders originally opened for the ‘Scorpionissima’ launch edition in March but that’s now sold out due to “significant customer demand”.

The line-up now starts with the Abarth 500e priced from £34,195 and £37,195 for the cabrio while the 500e Turismo is priced from £38,195 and £41,195 for the cabrio.

New design elements and sporty details on the 500e include a more aggressive front bumper, 17-inch alloy wheels, side skirts, rear diffuser inserts and new Matt Grey mirror caps. The interior gets sport seats with scorpion stripes embossed on fabric, double stitching and a steering wheel wrapped in black vinyl.

Equipment includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with ‘Performance Pages’ to show driving data, plus a 7-inch driver display. It also comes with the Abarth Sound Generator, which reproduces the sound of an Abarth petrol engine inspired by the famous Record Monza exhaust, and a JBL Premium Audio System as standard. Drivers also get access to Uconnect Services, providing real-time information and onboard security.

The Turismo bolds up the exterior with bespoke 18-inch diamond-cut Titanium Grey alloy wheels while the cabin gets an Alcantara and leather steering wheel and Alcantara embossed dashboard fascia.

Added comfort and safety features bring heated front seats, a wireless charging pad, a rear-view camera with 360-degree sensors, heated mirrors and windscreen, keyless entry and go, and a blind spot warning system. A fixed glass roof is standard on the hatchback version of Abarth 500e Turismo. Both models also offer three exclusive driving modes: Turismo, Scorpion Street and Scorpion Track.

Orders for the Abarth 500e are open now and UK customer deliveries start from the summer.
