ALD Automotive has signed up EO Charging to provide charging infrastructure and installation for its return-to-home fleet customers.

The partnership augments ALD’s end-to-end electrification offer for UK fleets – dubbed ALD Electric – with EO’s home charging solution, bringing support for return-to-home fleet customers

The partnership augments ALD’s end-to-end electrification offer for UK fleets – dubbed ALD Electric – with EO’s home charging solution. It also gives drivers at its fleet customers access to smart charging at home.

While many fleets are looking to adopt EVs or in the process of doing so, it requires critical financial and operational decisions as part of the process, such as where to install the necessary charging infrastructure. This can be at the vehicle depot for return-to-depot operators or at the drivers’ homes, in return-to-home scenarios.

ALD’s tie-up with EO simplifies this, enabling it to offer an all-in-one solution to cater for all charging requirements.

When financing an EV through ALD, companies can now opt to fund EO’s smart home charging solution – the EO Mini Pro 2 charge point – as part of the lease. One of the world’s smallest smart EV chargers, the Mini Pro 2 includes a dedicated app that allows drivers to schedule and monitor charging sessions directly from their smartphones, cutting costs when charging off-peak and reducing demand on the electricity grid.

“EO’s return-to-home charging solutions provide our customers with competitive, reliable and smart, charging solutions,” said Mark Evans, head of consultancy at ALD Automotive. “As our customers continue on the journey of decarbonising their fleet and corporate mobility solutions, charging forms a key part of our ALD Electric proposition which can be incorporated into their regular monthly rentals.”

It’s the latest work by EO to support fleet charging requirements; founded in 2014, the business has experience delivering EV fleet charging solutions at scale for car, van, truck and bus fleets such as Amazon, DHL, Uber and Tesco

“Fleet decarbonisation is an incredibly complex task and fleet managers are looking for partners that can simplify the decision-making process by offering a holistic charging solution,” said Charlie Jardine, CEO and founder of EO.

“By working with EO, ALD fleet customers now have access to a smart home charging offering that makes managing a diverse fleet simple. We are delighted to partner with a global mobility leader like ALD, a further demonstration of our ambition to become the global leader in EV charging solutions for fleet.”
