EV charging network Be.EV has joined Octopus Energy’s Electroverse network, bringing its ultra-rapid chargers to thousands of new drivers.

The deal brings Be.EV’s ultra-rapid chargers to thousands of new drivers

The deal is the next step in the companies’ relationship; Be.EV is already backed by Octopus Energy Generation to the tune of £110m, and powered by 100% renewable energy from Octopus Energy.

Octopus Electroverse allows EV drivers to find and pay for charge sessions via a single Electroverse app and card, at thousands of chargers nationwide. This now includes Be.EV’s ‘oases’ – large-scale charging hubs built from locally sourced materials that harvest their own rainwater and contain local wildflower species – along with its ultra-rapid chargers.

The partnership coincides with the national rollout of Be.EV chargers; the company is working to install 1,000 further charge points across the north of England and beyond by 2024, while offering high levels of reliability (99.6% operational availability across the entire network).

Be.EV is also among the first UK charging networks to implement Kempower technology, which provides intelligent load balancing abilities. This distributes energy supply between vehicles according to capacity and demand – meaning if one car reaches the maximum amount of power on one charger, any residual energy supply can be reassigned to another vehicle connected on-site.

Asif Ghafoor, Be.EV’s CEO and co-founder, said: “This is a fantastic partnership as it provides simplicity and visibility for all current and future EV drivers. Things that join up and smooth out the customer experience can only be beneficial for everyone.”
