The new one-day courses have been designed specifically for those providing operational and technical support to business fleets and personal customers looking to switch to electric vehicles.

One of the courses focuses on cars, whilst the other on commercial vehicles.

The launch of the course comes as uptake of EVs within the rental and leasing sectors rises fast. The BVRLA’s latest Quarterly Leasing Survey showed that nearly a fifth of members’ leasing fleet now has some form of electrification, and BVRLA rental and leasing members have pledged to register 400,000 new battery electric cars and vans per year by 2025.

BVRLA head of learning & development Mark Pow said: “It is crucial that the industry develops its knowledge to effectively support customers in the adoption of electric vehicles and these courses will go some way towards achieving that.”

The next scheduled date for the EV course for vans and trucks is taking place on 14 April 2021, whilst the EV course for Cars is 19 May 2021.
