BVRLA to run fleet charging local authority ‘masterclass’

By / 1 year ago / UK News / No Comments

The BVRLA is to host a masterclass session exploring how fleets can work with authorities to deliver effective infrastructure.

The session will explore subjects including how fleets can work with local authorities to ensure charging is in the right place at the right time for the right user.

Taking place at the association’s upcoming Fleets in Charge Conference in September, the session will explore subjects including how fleets can work with local authorities to ensure charging is in the right place at the right time for the right user.

It will also examine what an effective engagement strategy looks like from a local authority perspective and the role of the fleet sector in decarbonising the UK’s towns and cities and the opportunities for fleets.

Delegates will hear from one of the councils leading the way when it comes to transport decarbonisation. Shamala Evans-Gadgil from Coventry City Council will talk about how Coventry is a true trailblazer, outlining the steps they are taking to accommodate fleet users and how they are engaging to understand their needs.

Evans-Gadgil will provide tangible examples of how Coventry is working with fleets, offering guidance on how BVRLA members and their partners can more effectively collaborate with local authorities as they rollout charging infrastructure.

She’ll be joined on stage by Kim Harrison from Crown Commercial Services (CCS). Harrison will talk about how CCS is supporting the Government to meet its fleet commitment, where it is on the transition, and what it is looking for from rental and leasing companies to support the transition of the Government’s fleet.

The one-day conference will take place at the QEII conference centre in London on Wednesday 20 September.
