Calls for clamp down on ‘ice-ing’ at EV charge points

By / 7 years ago / UK News / No Comments

Electric vehicle drivers looking to take action on drivers of conventional ICE vehicles parking at EV charge points can now sign a petition for it to be made an offence.

The petition is calling for drivers to be penalised if they block charging points.

Dubbed ‘ice-ing’, it’s a practice that’s becoming a common sight at EV charging points and has even led to the use of the term ‘charge rage’, in particular on forums where drivers have vented their disgust.

A UK Government and Parliament petition has now been created to make parking of ICE vehicles at EV charging points a more serious offence. The petition is currently at 899 signatures – at 10,000 signatures, the government will respond to this petition.
