ChargedEV to double workforce in next 12 months

ChargedEV is planning to double its workforce over the next 12 months in response to fast-rising demand for chargers from businesses and drivers.

ChargedEV’s founder and MD Mark Pymm said the company is increasing its workforce to keep up with demand from drivers and companies

The electric vehicle charging company is looking to recruit another 55 colleagues over the coming months, bolstering its customer service, account management and sales teams. This adds to the 50 staff already recruited since the company was acquired by Redde Northgate Plc in the summer of 2021.

ChargedEV manages the driver relationship, from the initial house electric supply survey to installing the charging unit and managing queries during the life of their contract.

It employs 40 full-time electricians working on installations across the UK. This differs to many suppliers who sub-contract their installation work and delivers a consistent and high-quality service for its customers, according to the firm.

“We are all about providing a cradle-to-grave service as part of a B2B2C operation, which is unique in this current environment. We manage the relationship with the driver on behalf of our corporate customer to provide a seamless home charging experience. It is much easier to manage a high-quality installation when you employ your own people,” explained Mark Pymm, ChargedEV’s MD.

Pymm set up the business in 2013 and since then has fitted 25,000 charging units for drivers – it’s installing around 2,000 new units each month.

“The demand from companies and drivers continues to increase and we are making sure we are increasing our workforce to keep up with demand. It is all about retaining a quality service for our customers and the only way to do this is by investing in people,” added Pymm.
