Charging points added at three London and Surrey hospitals

Available from the 16th April, two units have been installed in the car park at St Helier, two at Epson and one at Sutton, with each able to charge two vehicles simultaneously.

Nick Gorvett, director of corporate infrastructure at the hospitals, said: ‘The scheme is currently being introduced across London by Transport for London and we were really keen on getting involved as soon as possible. It's one of a number of green initiatives we have in place, including turning our food waste into compost and providing recycling facilities for glass, cans and plastic bottles.

‘People who drive electric, bio-fuel or dual-fuel cars to our hospitals are free to either top their car up during a quick visit, or – if they are planning on staying longer – to fully charge their car over an hour or two.’
