The Electric Vehicle Association (EVA) England is now open to members, providing a range of benefits and the opportunity for EV drivers to have their voices heard.

Founded in summer 2020 as a non-profit Community Interest Company, EVA England has been established to provide latest information about EVs and smart charging, as well as promoting the eco benefits of electric vehicles.

Membership – which is open to prospective drivers of electric vehicles as well as current EV drivers – costs £20 a year. In return, members will receive an exclusive pack, a charging etiquette guide, as well as access to further guides and support. This will also expand in time to offer specially organised events, and a variety of discounted services and products. Under an opening membership offer, all members can also benefit from £50 off any electric car home charger on the Rightcharge website.

Members are also able to participate in surveys that aim to better inform on the big issues for EV drivers in England, in turn helping shape EVA England’s activities.

This includes a survey by EVA England on drivers’ charge point experiences, which is open until midnight on Friday 19 March and will be used to inform the association’s response to the Government’s consultation on the subject.

Gill Nowell, a director at EVA England, said: “With numbers of electric cars steadily increasing despite the economic challenges of lockdown, and the 2030 phase out date for all new sales of petrol and diesel cars fresh in people’s minds, EVA England acts as a support mechanism for both current and prospective electric car drivers. We launched our new website in February and have been delighted by the number of membership enquiries already received from drivers who are keen to join the EVA England community.”

She added: “We recognise that organisations such as BVRLA and EV100 work actively with fleets and play a key role in driving forward their adoption of electric vehicles. However, if people driving EVs in fleets would like to join EVA England as they are keen to help support the growth of electric cars and vans, they would be welcome.”
