Europcar drives electric company car take-up under new CBVC fleet deal

A new inhouse company car scheme launched at Europcar Mobility Group UK has seen a 90% take-up rate for EVs among new orders.

Early company car orders from Europcar Mobility Group UK employees are showing a 90% take-up rate of EVs

The scheme has been introduced by CBVC Vehicle Management, which has been appointed by Europcar to manage its allocated company car fleet and support a shift to electric vehicles to reduce CO2 emissions.

Europcar already offers its business and leisure customers a choice of petrol, diesel and electric cars, as well as vans, and is working with CBVC to enhance its own company car scheme.

The deal will support Europcar’s ‘One Sustainable Fleet’ programme, focused on the ‘greenification’ of the group’s fleet on an ongoing basis, by incentivising staff take-up of electric vehicles.

Through the CBVC Driver Vehicle Selection Portal, Europcar Mobility Group UK employees who opt for electric are able to trade up to the next grade of vehicle.

The business is also supporting opt-out drivers who want to return to company cars to take advantage of ultra-low Benefit-in-Kind rates for EVs.

Crucially, CBVC is using whole-life costs to generate multi-brand vehicle lists and its expertise not only supports employees going electric but also delivers lower costs for Europcar, thanks to its multi-bid acquisition model and enhanced levels of service.

CBVC will also oversee ongoing maintenance management of the Europcar company car fleet in the UK, including managing current legacy vehicles to end of contract, as well as the company’s grey fleet cash allowance drivers.

Ron Santiago, managing director, Europcar Mobility Group UK, said: “Europcar Mobility Group has a clear aim to reduce emissions across the entire fleet and that has to include the company car vehicles we offer to our employees. In the UK we are supporting that mission by working with CBVC, which has worked hard with us over recent months to produce and deliver whole-life cost based choice lists, benefiting both the company and our company car drivers.”

Mike Manners, managing director of CBVC Vehicle Management, added: “We have been working with many clients to reduce CO2 emissions and our technology incorporating video review and trade-up option is really quick, informative and straightforward to use. Early orders from Europcar Mobility Group UK employees are showing a 90% take-up rate, so we are feeling confident that we will be able to deliver significant CO2 reductions across the company car fleet.

“EVs are a win-win with known tax rates and by using whole-life costs to produce driver vehicle lists we will further support Europcar Mobility Group UK in its ambition to drive down CO2 emissions.”
