EV charging solution could unlock £27m annual revenue for dealers and leasing firms

EV car dealerships and leasing firms are currently missing out on at least £27m in potential extra revenue every year by not selling home charger units with EV vehicles.

Go Zero Charge estimates that 80% of new and used EV transactions would be leads for a home EV charger sale

According to electric vehicle charger company Go Zero Charge, 80% of new and used battery electric vehicle (BEV) transactions would be leads for home EV charger sales.

It’s an area that the business is seeking to tackle with its complete EV charging solution concept for partners.

Designed to take all the hassle out of the EV charger unit sales process, it includes everything from point-of-sale (POS) materials and educational videos for staff and customers, to integration into systems, and a nationwide installation service for customers.

According to the firm, many EV charger firms are currently only offering trade customers units at wholesale prices, meaning they must hold stock and take on the risk associated with that. Go Zero Charge offers a commission structure with revenue that it says will match the profitability of a wholesale model with zero risk.
The solution is built around the Optimus, Go Zero Charge’s smart EV home charger, which is supported by the Go Zero Charge that enables users to schedule their charging based on cheaper, off-peak tariffs and save significantly on their electricity bills. Users can even rent out their charger via the app, offering an opportunity for extra income.

CEO David Wells said: “We want to enable the industry to boost their service by assisting more customers in the move to EVs and we are confident that our complete EV charging solution does exactly that.”
