Evyve charging network now available on Zapmap payment app
Drivers charging at Evyve can now use the Zapmap payment app to pay for charging.
Evyve is now the 10th network to join Zapmap’s cross-network payment solution, joining Osprey, ESB Energy, Char.gy, GeniePoint, Mer, MFG EV Power, Fastned, Alfa Power and Connected Kerb.
As well as being able to search for charge points, plan longer journeys, and share updates with other EV drivers, Zapmap users can now pay quickly and easily for their EV charging on all 10 networks up and down the UK.
Evyve is developing a nationwide network of rapid and ultra-rapid charging locations powered by 100% renewable energy. It currently operates more than 200 chargers, covering areas from Aberdeen to Eastbourne – primarily at retail and leisure outlets, business parks and restaurants – following partnerships with leading pub operator Greene King and Peel L&P, which includes strategically located retail sites within the UK.
The Zap-Pay single-app payment solution uses a credit or debit card to pay for charging, providing a simple way to pay for EV charging across networks from within the Zapmap app and avoiding the hassle of using different payment methods across all the various networks.
Drivers using Zap-Pay are also able to view their charging history, receive live status updates while away from their vehicle, and download receipts to help keep track of their spending. To facilitate easy payment, they can also use both Apple Pay and Google Pay on all Zap-Pay enabled devices across the UK.
James Moat, CEO at Evyve, said: “We already consider Zapmap an important partner for charge point identification and route planning, but it is great to see progressive tools such as Zap-Pay being developed in-house to really tie the offering together and provide a great mobility service to the public.”
First launched late summer 2020, Zap-Pay is on a mission to include all the key charge point networks across the UK.
Alex Earl, commercial director at Zapmap, added: “As the 10th network to go live on Zap-Pay, I’m very pleased that Evyve has now come online as a fully fledged payment partner. With usage levels of Zap-Pay continually increasing, we expect to see Zap-Pay utilisation jump still further as the summer progresses.”
More integrations and announcements around Zap-Pay will follow over the coming weeks and months.
