Fiat is to only sell mild hybrids and fully electric vehicles in the UK from 1 July, eliminating all non-electrified models from its line-up.

Fiat data reveals the 500 is the best-selling electric city car in 11 countries

The brand said the move was a pivotal point in its commitment to provide affordable and sustainable mobility solutions for all customers.

The fully electric 500 launched last year in hatch and convertible form, based on an all-new electric platform and providing a WLTP driving range of up to 199 miles.

It joined the existing mild hybrid 500 and Panda, and the line-up has also expanded recently with the new 500X and Tipo mild hybrids.

Fiat data reveals the 500 is the best-selling electric city car in 11 countries and the second best-selling electric car in any segment in Europe, behind only Tesla. In Italy and France, it is the best-selling electric model ever, while it ranks second in Germany, the largest electric car market in Europe. It’s also now launching into Brazil and Japan.
