Fleet World Fleet: Mazda MX-30 Sport Lux
Martyn Collins puts our fully electric Mazda to the test over the summer holidays.
A local camping weekend seemed the perfect opportunity to test the MX-30’s practicality, out of town.
The Mazda got off to a good start as its 341-litre boot swallowed our tent and all our camping gear with ease.
It also proved a pleasingly relaxing companion on the trip as, despite traffic jams and needing a charge, I still felt fresh after a couple of hours at the wheel. Likely because the Mazda rides well, and also the lack of engine noise.
As it got dark, we headed deeper into the Cambridgeshire countryside, and then convenience features such as auto full-beam headlights impressed – the power of the lights proved useful as we put the tent up in the dark too.
Range-wise, it’s still not enough, but we got the best yet at 110 miles.
