Speaking to members of the myfocuselectric.com forum, Ford’s electric vehicles marketing manager David Finnegan confirmed rumours that early vehicles would only be shipped to New York and California before the end of the year. Orders from other markets would be met starting in in Spring 2012.

‘For the first few months of production, we will be concentrating on California and New York,’ he said.  ‘Our dealers in those areas will be the first to have their retail orders scheduled and receive the Focus Electric. 

‘We will be rolling out to the remainder of our initial markets starting in Spring 2012, including Raleigh/Durham.'
