New Ford Focus Electric is available to order now in European markets.

The updated five-door hatchback is powered by a 145hp electric motor, and a 33.5 kilowatt-hour battery – with almost 50% more energy capacity than the outgoing model. As a result, the Focus Electric can now travel up to 140 miles (225km) on a single charge.

Both the battery and motor are liquid-cooled and -heated, helping the new Ford Focus Electric be more energy-efficient and extending the battery lifespan.

In addition, new fast-charging capability using the Combined Charging System (CCS) is available to order and means the Focus Electric can be charged from zero to 80% full in just 30 minutes. Charging using the same connector at a 32 amp AC home-charging point gives full range in around five hours, and around a 93-mile (150km)driving range in three to four hours.

The new Focus Electric also features the latest SYNC 3connectivity, which is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

New Ford Focus Electric is available to order now in Belgium, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Norway, Switzerland and the UK.
