Genesis Electrified GV70 SUV now officially on sale

The Genesis Electrified GV70 has officially started sales in the UK, targeted at fleet drivers looking for a versatile and high-end fully electric SUV.

Priced from £64,405, the Electified GV70 SUV delivers 490hp of power and a driving range of up to 283 miles

Priced from £64,405 and starting first deliveries this month, it’s the all-electric version of the GV70 SUV which launched in Europe last year and brings a rival to models such as the BMW iX3 and Mercedes EQC.

Its all-wheel drive dual electric motor powertrain delivers 490hp of power, giving a 0-62mph time of just 4.2 seconds, while the Drive Mode and e-Terrain mode can be adapted to meet needs.

The 77.4kWh battery provides a WLTP combined range of up to 283 miles and the Electrified GV70 can be replenished from 10 to 80% in 18 minutes using a 350kW rapid charger, thanks to the use of Hyundai Motor’s 800V architecture.

An Outdoor Pack can be specified, featuring vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging for external devices with a plug both inside and outside, as already seen on the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Drivers can also make use of the ‘Genesis Charging’ programme, which offers customers a Europe-wide electric charging solution with up to 275,000 charging locations, accessed via a single app and charge card and benefiting from single-account billing and dedicated, 24-hour emergency support.

Electrified GV70 is available solely in the GV70’s Sport trim. Equipment includes a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment display with a dedicated battery electric (BEV) theme, plus a number of advanced driver safety assistance features.

It’s the third all-electric model to be launched by the South Korean brand this year following the launch of the GV60 and Electrified G80, and supports the Genesis commitment to be a 100% zero-emission vehicle brand by 2030.

Lawrence Hamilton, managing director for Genesis Motor Europe, commented: “Electrified GV70 is one of our most exciting models for Genesis in Europe. Evolving our successful GV70 model into the new era of electrification, its powerful driving performance, impressive range, elegant styling and exceptional comfort provides huge appeal to modern professionals and families.”
