Genesis’ Electrified GV70 SUV is now available to pre-order – priced from £64,405 and delivering a range of up to 293 miles.

Despite the name implying it’s a hybrid, the SUV is actually the third fully electric vehicle from Hyundai’s premium brand offshoot, following on from the GV60 and the Electrified G80 launched last month. It’s also a big part of Genesis’ commitment to deliver an all-electric line-up of vehicles by 2025 – and Hyundai Motor’s overall pledge to launch 17 new battery electric vehicles by 2030 as it looks to go carbon-neutral by 2035.

It features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system that delivers a combined output of up to 490hp for a 0-62mph time of just 4.2 seconds. It’s also the latest of Hyundai Motor’s 800V-EVs, which enable ultra-fast charging; the 77.4kW lithium-ion battery pack can be replenished from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes from a 350kW ultra-rapid charger. Drivers can also add in an Outdoor Pack, which features vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging for external devices with a plug both inside and outside, as already seen on the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

The Electrified GV70 is available in just one single ‘Sport’ trim that features a widescreen 14.5-inch infotainment display, leather seats and LED mood lighting, plus E-Terrain mode and electronically controlled suspension with Road Preview. Already seen on the GV80, this previews the road and reacts to any contingency to optimise passenger comfort.

A range of “carefully curated” option packs are also available, adding to the technology, innovation and comfort features. Extras include a semi-autonomous Highway Driving Assistant II and Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA), Ergo Motion seats with massage function and the high-fidelity Lexicon sound system with Active Noise Control-Road. Other options include an aluminium interior finish, 20-inch alloy wheels and Fingerprint Reader Authentication technology, which works with the Genesis Carpay service as well as the valet mode and enables personalisation features.

Dominique Boesch, managing director for Genesis Motor Europe, commented: “Delivering the core Genesis values of premium performance, intuitive technology and unrivalled luxury, Electrified GV70 also provides exceptional versatility and an electric experience that demands no compromise from customers. Electrified GV70 is the third electrical vehicle from Genesis this year, and underlines our commitment to sustainability as we move towards our goal of being carbon-neutral by 2035.”

First customer deliveries will start in October this year.
