HP and Renault partner for electric vehicle telematics system

The cloud-based system, run from HP’s secure data centre in Grenoble, France, is designed to be expandable should Renault require extra server capacity in the future, and was chosen for its flexibility and security. HP’s services will be offered on a pay-as-you-go basis, said to help the carmaker predict ongoing costs and reduce up-front investment.

‘The combination of HP’s technology and cloud computing services helps us create the innovative, integrated, end-to-end solutions that customers like Renault need to more effectively achieve market, cost and environmental objectives,’ said Gerald Karsenti, president and managing director, HP France.
