Hyundai Kona Hybrid to replace diesel in line-up
Hyundai has removed the Kona Diesel from its line-up, just a year after its launch.
The car offered Hyundai’s 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine in the popular small SUV that’s now sold more than 120,000 units since its launch.
The model has been pulled from sales in the UK market, although it remains on sale in other European markets. The company cited a lack of demand as prime reasons in pulling the model, with the newly launched Kona Hybrid that goes on sale from 30 September effectively replacing it.
Revealed earlier this summer, the Kona Hybrid starts from £22,495 and offers between 90-99g/km CO2 and 56.5mpg (WLTP), whereas the discontinued Kona Diesel started from £19,750 and offered CO2 emissions between 111-114g/km and 67.3-64.2mpg (NEDC).
