Jaguar launches new range calculator for I-PACE

Jaguar has launched a new online calculator to help potential I-PACE buyers maximise the range of the all-electric SUV.

The Go I-PACE app has shown 87% of UK drivers could cover their weekly mileage with an I-PACE and just two recharges, and over half of drivers could manage charging just once

Launched last year, the I-PACE has a range of up to 292 miles on the WLTP cycle, helped by a suite of smart range-optimising technologies including a battery pre-conditioning system which, when plugged in, automatically increases or lowers the temperature of the battery to maximise range before driving away.

The new online calculator enables customers to easily see how different factors, such as wheel size and other vehicle aspects, affect the vehicle’s official range and running costs.

Buyers can then download the Go I-PACE app to see how I-PACE can fit into their life based on their personal driving activity. The app calculates potential cost savings, how much battery would have been used per trip and the number of full charges that would be required to cover the cumulative distance driven, all by tracking individual user journey data via the location services on a smartphone.

Since its launch last year, the app has logged more than 35,000 journeys, mapping a strong profile of daily motoring usage and potential improvements. Already, the app has shown that 87% of UK drivers could cover their weekly mileage with an I-PACE and just two recharges, and over half (52%) of UK drivers could manage charging just once.

Joanna Hewitt, digital innovations, Jaguar Land Rover, said: “The Go I-PACE app was designed to demonstrate how EV ownership can benefit drivers, particularly in understanding journey impact on range and how often they would need to plug in. Looking at the data we have had so far it is clear to see that not only is I-PACE ownership cost-effective, it is extremely convenient too.”
